WirelessCarPlayTroubleshootingReport
I.FailureTypesandCauseAnalysis
(A)ConnectionFailures
1. BluetoothandWi-Fi Issues:WirelessCarPlayreliesonBluetoothfor initialpairingand
Wi-Fi for data transmission. If BluetoothorWi-Fi functions arenot enabled, or the
Bluetoothconnectionbetweenthephoneandthe in-vehiclesystemisunstable, the
connectionwill fail. Forexample, inareaswithstrongsignal interference, suchasnear
large shopping malls, the electromagnetic interference generated by numerous
electronicdevicesworkingsimultaneouslymayaffectthetransmissionofBluetoothand
Wi-Fisignals,makingWirelessCarPlayunabletoconnectnormally.
2. DeviceCompatibility: Not all vehiclemodels and iPhonemodelsperfectly support
WirelessCarPlay.Someoldervehiclemodelsmayhavein-vehiclesystemsthathavenot
beenadaptedandupdated,makingthemincompatiblewiththelatest iPhonesystems,
thuscausingconnectionproblems. Inaddition, even if thevehiclemodel andphone
supportWirelessCarPlay, thesubtledifferencesbetweendifferentbrandsandmodels
maystill leadtocompatibilityfailures.
3. Software Issues:Whether it is the iOSsystemof the iPhoneor thesoftwareof the
in-vehicleinfotainmentsystem, if theyarenotupdatedtothelatestversioninatimely
manner, potential software vulnerabilities or incompatibility issuesmay affect the
connectionofWirelessCarPlay. For instance, afterupdatingcertain iOSversions, the
communicationprotocolwithspecific in-vehiclesystemsmaychange. If the in-vehicle
systemisnotupdatedsynchronously,theconnectionwillfail.
(B)AudioFailures
1. IncorrectAudioOutputSettings:AfterconnectingtoWirelessCarPlay,usersmaynot
correctlysettheaudiooutputsource,resultinginnosoundfromthein-vehiclespeakers.
Theaudiosettingsofsomevehiclemodelsarerelativelycomplex,withmultipleaudio
outputoptions,suchasBluetoothaudio, in-vehicleCDaudio,USBaudio,etc. Ifusersdo
notswitchtheaudiooutput totheoptioncorrespondingtoWirelessCarPlay, theywill
nothearthesound.
2. ChannelBalanceIssues:Sometimes, improperaudiochannelbalancesettingswillcause
thesoundtoonlycomefromonesideofthespeakerorthevolumetobetoolow.For
example,whenadjustingthevolume,usersmayaccidentallychangethechannelbalance,
makingthevolumeof the leftandright channels inconsistent, affectingthe listening
experience.
3. AudioCodec Incompatibility: Differentmusic applicationsmayusedifferent audio
codecformats, andthein-vehiclesystemmaynotsupportcertaincodecformatswell,
resultinginabnormalaudioplayback, suchas卡顿(stuttering)ornoise.Forexample,
somenichemusic applicationsmay use special audio coding, which the in-vehicle
systemcannotdecodesmoothly,thusaffectingtheaudioplaybackquality.
(C)DisplayFailures
1. ResolutionMismatch:Thescreenresolutionof theiPhoneis inconsistentwiththatof
thein-vehicledisplay,whichmay leadtoabnormaldisplay, suchaspicturestretching,
blurring,orpartialcontentnotbeingdisplayedcompletely.Thisproblemismoreobvious
whensome iPhoneswithhigh-resolutionscreensareconnectedtoin-vehicledisplays
withlowresolution.
2. Incorrect Display Settings: Theremay be parameters incompatiblewithWireless
CarPlayinthedisplaysettingsofthein-vehiclesystem,suchasimproperlysetbrightness,
contrast, colormode, etc., whichwill affect thedisplay effect. For example, if the
brightnessissettoolow,thecontentonthein-vehicledisplaywillbedifficulttoseeina
strongsunlightenvironment.
3. SoftwareConflicts: Someapplications installedonthe iPhonemayconflictwiththe
display functionofWirelessCarPlay, causingproblems suchas flower screens, black
screens,or flickeringonthescreen. Forexample, somegameapplicationswithspecial
displayeffectsmayinterferewiththenormaldisplayofWirelessCarPlaywhenrunningin
thebackground.
II.TroubleshootingMethods
(A)TroubleshootingforConnectionFailures
1. RebootDevices:OperateintheorderofrebootingtheiPhonefirstandthenthevehicle.
When rebootingthe iPhone, long-press thepower buttonuntil theshutdownslider
appears, slidetoshutdown, wait for a fewseconds, andthen long-press thepower
buttontoturniton.Whenrebootingthevehicle, turnoffthevehicle,waitforat least1
minute,andthenstartitagain.Thiscancleartemporaryerrordatainthedevicememory

2. CheckBluetoothandWi-FiSettings: Inthe"Settings"oftheiPhone,ensurethatboth
BluetoothandWi-Fi areturnedon. Enter theBluetoothsettingspagetocheck if the
in-vehicleBluetoothdevicehasbeensuccessfullyconnected.Ifnot,clickthedevicename
toconnect.Atthesametime,checktheWi-Fisettingstoconfirmthat it isconnectedto
thein-vehicleWi-Fihotspot(ifany). Iftheconnectionisabnormal,youcantryto"forget

3. UpdateSoftware:TimelyupdatetheiOSsystemoftheiPhonetothelatestversion. In
the"Settings"oftheiPhone,click"General"-"SoftwareUpdate"andfollowtheprompts
toupdate.Forthein-vehicleinfotainmentsystem,refertothevehicleusermanualtofind
theupdatemethod.Usually, youcandownloadtheupdatepackagefromtheofficial
websiteofthevehiclemanufacturerandthenupdatethesystemthroughaUSBstorage
deviceoronlineupdate.
4. ConfirmCompatibility: Check theofficial documentsof thevehiclemanufacturer to
confirmwhether thevehicle supportsWirelessCarPlay and the rangeof supported
iPhonemodels and iOS versions. If the vehicledoes not supportWirelessCarPlay,
considerusingawiredconnectionmethod. For iPhones, if theversion is too lowto
supportWirelessCarPlay,trytoupgradetheiOSsystem; ifupgradingisnotpossible,you
mayneedtoreplacethedevicewithasupportedone.
(B)TroubleshootingforAudioFailures
1. AdjustAudioOutputSettings: Inthe in-vehicle infotainment system, findtheaudio
settingsmenuandswitchtheaudiooutputsourcetoWirelessCarPlay.Theoperation
methodsof different vehiclemodelsmayvary slightly. Generally, youcanswitchby
touchingthescreenorrotatingthecontrolknobintheaudiosourceselectioninterface.
Afterswitching,checkwhetherthereissoundoutput.
2. CalibrateChannelBalance: Enter theaudiosettingsof thein-vehiclesystem, findthe
channelbalanceadjustmentoption,andadjusttheleftandrightchannelbalancetothe
middleposition. Somevehiclemodelscanbeadjustedbyslidingthebarorentering
numbers.Afteradjustment,playtheaudiotocheckifthesoundisnormal.
3. ChangeMusicApplicationorAudioFormat: Ifacertainmusicapplicationhasaudio
playbackproblems, trytoswitchtoothermusicapplications, suchasswitchingfroma
third-partymusicapplicationtotheApple-built-inmusicapplication. Iftheproblemstill
exists, itmaybeanaudiofileformat issue.Youcantrytoplayotherformataudiofiles,
suchasMP3,AAC,etc.,toseeiftheycanplaynormally.
(C)TroubleshootingforDisplayFailures
1. AdjustDisplaySettings: Inthedisplaysettingsof thein-vehiclesystem, trytoadjust
parameterssuchasbrightness,contrast,andcolormodetooptimizethedisplayeffect.
Generally,youcanfindthedisplay-relatedoptionsinthesettingsmenuofthein-vehicle
systemforadjustment. Forexample,appropriatelyincreasethebrightnesstoadapt to
differentlightenvironments.
2.
Close Conflicting Applications: On the iPhone, close the application programs that may
conflict with the display function of Wireless CarPlay. Double-click the Home button (for
full-screen iPhones, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and pause) to bring up
the background application program interface, and swipe up the application window to
be closed to close it. After closing all suspicious applications, reconnect to Wireless
CarPlay to check if the display returns to normal.
3.
Check Resolution Settings (if supported): The in-vehicle systems of some high-end
vehicle models may allow users to manually adjust the display resolution. If the
resolution difference between the iPhone and the in-vehicle display is large, you can try
to find the resolution setting option in the in-vehicle system and adjust it to a mode
similar to or compatible with the iPhone screen resolution. However, it should be noted
that adjusting the resolution may affect the display effect of other functions of the
in-vehicle system, so careful consideration is required before operation
